About the ROC Lab
The Reference Online Center (ROC) Lab is adjacent to the Reference Desk on the 1st floor. This lab provides twenty-four (24) computers for researching and accessing online library resources, the Dupré Library Catalog, and U.S. Government Information resources.
Use your ULID and password to log in. Students can print to the STEP Lab printers on the 1st floor from these computers using PaperCut.
Visitors not affiliated with the University can use the ROC Lab for research purposes only. Inquire at the Reference Desk and view the Use of Electronic Resources by Visitors Policy.

Reference Online Center (ROC) Lab – Research Resources
ROC Lab computers are available thanks to a Student Technology Enhancement Program (STEP) Grant.
ROC Lab Use Policy
Preference for computer use in the ROC Lab is given to researchers accessing the Dupré Library Catalog, databases, and government information resources. Those engaged in other activities may need to give up their turn if a user needs a computer for research. A 30-minute time limit will go into place if the lab is full and others are waiting.
Visitors not affiliated with the University are allowed computer access in the ROC Lab for research purposes only. View the Use of Electronic Resources by Visitors Policy.
When at a workstation :
- Covered beverages only
- Research and browse the Internet
- Socialize but be courteous to others around
- Yield to those doing research
- No food
Users should abide by the University Computer & Network Policy (PDF).
Computer Reservations
University of Louisiana at Lafayette instructors who wish to use the Reference Online Center (ROC) Lab computers for class instruction in the use of library resources may contact the Reference Desk at (337) 482-6025 or reference@louisiana.edu, at least two hours before the requested reservation time. A specific time and the number of students attending are also required when submitting a reservation request. The ROC Lab computers may be reserved a maximum of three times per section during each semester.
Accessing Online Library Resources
On and off-campus access to online library resources, such as databases and journals, is available to students, faculty, and staff. The majority of online library resources are accessible off-campus.
Use your ULID and password when you see the 'Log in to Library Resources' page. Your login will remain active across multiple databases. After one hour of non-use, the session will time out and you will be required to log in again.
Visitors can access online library resources on-site when visiting the library or use Library Search Guest Access to find limited research materials. View the Use of Electronic Resources by Visitors Policy for more information.
